HOBB Buddy Scheme
What is a HOB Buddy?
- A mum from the local community
- Who would like to support other mums to successfully breastfeed
- A mum who has a belief in breastfeeding
What can I expect from a HOBB Buddy?
A Hobb buddy will give breastfeeding support to mum and family in her home for up to six months covering topics such as:
- Positioning and attachment
- Expression and storage
- Common problems
- Communicating the benefits of breastfeeding
How can I access a HOBB Buddy

- Anybody can refer
- No paperwork to fill out
- We will take all the details over the phone
- Need to live in Hob area or within one mile of boundary

- Theory and practical assessment
- CRB check
- Flexible and approachable
- Good communication & empathy skills
Could you organise a HOBB Buddy at my centre?
- Yes
- You will need a room that can hold up to ten pupils
- Access to equipment such as TV, video and DVD player
- Tea & coffee facilities
- Local enthusiastic mums
