BABA - Birmingham Breastfeeding Awards Be breastfeeding friendly, register as breastfeeding friendly here

Welcome to our website

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for babies. Studies have shown that breastfed babies are less likely to get infections such as gastroenteritis, asthma, become obese or get diabetes in later childhood. Research also shows that mothers who breastfeed have an increased protection against certain health problems in later life. Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for six months but many mothers give up earlier than they want to because they do not get the help and support they need.

The aim of this site is to promote breastfeeding as a natural way of feeding, to let you know where you can get help and support to feed your baby for as long as you want and to help you to breastfeed whilst out and about by listing retailers, shopping centres and work places that are 'Breastfeeding Friendly'.
